A range of both cable and busbar mounted current transducers, which are locally manufactured by PREI Instrumentation is available for both cable and busbar mounted applications. These 2-wire loop-powered devices have an output of 4 to 20 mA that can be integrated directly into monitoring instrumentation without the necessity of using a step-down C.T. This solution reduces the installed cost of machine current monitoring.
The series, designated the KR and LR are scaled to suit the application, cover ranges from 5 A to 2,5 kA - and are also available in intrinsically safe versions for use in hazardous areas. Being locally manufactured, delivery time is typically one week from order; dependent on quantities, and the cost of the transducer is considerably cheaper than an imported product.
