Rockwell Automation will be hosting its RSTechEd 2004 conference at the Caesars casino complex in Gauteng, from 8-10 September 2004. This event will provide an in-depth assessment of the latest developments in system integration, manufacturing execution systems and visualisation software, with delegates and speakers from overseas and across the continent attending.
Designed to provide first-hand knowledge of new strategies, practices and systems software that facilitates faster and improved decision-making, the event will revolve around the principle that integrated systems software controls everything, from plant floor processes to maintenance schedules and inventory levels, as well as effectively integrating with ERP and supply chain planning systems.
The program for the two-day event ranges from practical sessions on new software versions and PLCs to discussions on issues like automation integration and information sessions covering RSBizware Historian, RSBizware Plantmetrics, RSBatch and Arena. Due to the host of information to be fitted into such a short period of time, certain presentations will be repeated on the second day to allow visitors the opportunity of scheduling their attendance in order to take in as many of the sessions presented as possible.
Some of the items to look out for include 'Using RSTeststand to drastically improve process and discrete application development', 'Using design automation tools to speed control system development', 'Creating an RSView Supervisory Edition Application', and 'Configuring Phase-Based Logix in Logix 5000 for batch and packaging applications.'
Rockwell Automation is strategically focused on helping manufacturers address the growing competitive pressures to reduce costs, conserve resources, improve productivity and reduce the time to market for manufactured goods.
