Reed Exhibitions launches industrial event in PE
November 2000
News
Based on the success of the KZN and Cape Industrial Trade Shows, Reed Exhibitions SA (formerly TML Reed Exhibitions) has launched a similar event in the Eastern Cape. The first exhibition is scheduled to run at the Capespan Centre in the Port Elizabeth harbour from 17 to 19 October 2001.
Named the Eastern Cape Industrial Trade Show, this new event will provide a dedicated shop window for the promotion of industrial products, services and solutions appropriate to the region. Companies interested in capturing a share of the Eastern Cape market will find this an ideal opportunity of making new inroads in the region.
As a leading organiser of industrial events in this country, Reed Exhibition's strategy of taking exhibitions to the regions has proved highly successful.
"Intensive research has indicated the need for us to take this event to the Eastern Cape, especially given the region's growth potential," says Janet Coom, Reed Exhibition SA's General Manager for KZN and the Cape. "Our research also confirms that people from the Eastern Cape do not travel to other centres for exhibitions so taking the event to them makes sound business sense."
Ms Coom believes timing of the PE exhibition to be perfect, as by October next year Coega will be a reality. "This means more investment in the form of joint ventures will be in place and the confidence level in the region will be at an all-time high," she adds.
The Eastern Cape Industrial Trade Show will draw its exhibitors from all industrial and technological sectors including electrical/electronics, mechanical/materials handling, plastics/chemicals, trucking and transport, safety, health, environmental and business solutions. In addition to boosting the local industrial sector, the exhibition will also assist with job creation in the region as many skilled and semi-skilled staff are employed on-site during build-up and breakdown of such an event.
