Exhibition Management Services (EMS) has acquired the rights and title to the 5th Process Industry Exhibition which will be held in June 2001.
This Process Industry Exhibition was previously purchased by Tradeworx, the exhibition division of AME, from the liquidated assets of the founding company Ocean Media, that initiated this successful exhibition in 1996.
Embracing international trends, EMS is set to maximise visitor attendance and stimulate further interest by running several complementary exhibitions concurrently from 13 to 15 June 2001 at Gallagher, Midrand. This move is endorsed and supported by several acknowledged institutions, including the South African Bureau of Standards, the South African Institute of Consulting Engineers, the South African Institute of Chemical Engineering and Rand Merchant Bank.
Linking related exhibitions is sure to attract a larger, more diverse audience, and EMS has chosen to present four well-established and thriving correlated electrotechnical exhibitions alongside The Process Industry Exhibition. These are: Electrics Africa 2001, Power Applications Africa, Electronic Controls Africa and Pumps, Valves and Pipes Africa 2001.
Post-show reports from previous exhibitions strongly indicate that the synergy provided by staging these interrelated exhibitions in the same place and at the same time will be welcomed by the existing visitor base and is sure to attract new interest.
EMS has also departed from the normal profile of exhibitors and service providers interfacing solely with visitors and potential customers. A new philosophy in exhibition application has been developed in conjunction with the Southern African Development Bank to create a situation where all stakeholders become proactive. This model will bring project implementers together with funding institutions, development agencies and emerging SMME contractors. There will also be technical and educational workshops, seminars and industry conferences.
This will provide the ideal opportunity for entrepreneurial service providers to link up with development funding agencies and for project managers to secure the services of contractors with the necessary financial backing and skills, in line with the transformation process going on in South Africa. Previous exhibitions have attracted a large percentage of visitors that influenced purchases - across all the featured industries, averaging around three-quarters of the visitor base. Foreign visitors were recorded from over 20 countries, with the majority coming from elsewhere in Africa.
The innovations being put into place for this series of electrotechnical exhibitions are expected to bring real value to exhibitors and visitors alike.
