Metal-seated valve performs under pressure

August 2004 Valves, Actuators & Pump Control News & Events Products & Solutions

When launched, the Vanessa Series 30.000 from Tyco Valves & Controls was believed to be the world's first metal seated quarter-turn rotary process valve offering bi-directional, zero-leakage operation at full differential pressures.

Still combining the durability of gate valves, with the superior performance of quarter-turn valves, the robust Vanessa Series 30.000 is suited to arduous high pressure and temperature services on steam and process applications in petrochemical, chemical, offshore and oil and gas industries.

The combination of a non-rubbing resilient metal seal ring and seat with torque sealing ensures zero leakage under pressures as high as ANSI Class 900 and temperatures from Cryogenic to +815°C. Offering superior wear resistance to abrasion and temperature changes, the Vanessa 30.000 also reduces maintenance requirements, minimising the costs and inconvenience of downtime. Incorporating full adjustable Stem Packing, the Vanessa 30.000 prevents leakage to the atmosphere thus avoiding product loss and pollution whilst eliminating risks to the operator and the plant.

The Vanessa Series 30.000 is available in a range of body designs including double flanged in accordance with ISO5752 and ANSI B16.10 and Wafer & Wafer Lugged in accordance to API609. The valve's compact design offers significant weight and space savings over traditional gate valves enabling it to be installed, removed and maintained with relative ease. The valve caters for direct mounting of a quarter-turn electric, hydraulic or pneumatic actuator for fast and efficient local or remote operation.
