The 95 mm2 terminal block from the Wago 285 series is believed to offer the largest conductor cross section in a spring clamp DIN rail mount terminal available today. It ensures the fast and reliable connection of solid and multistrand conductors without the need to fit pin terminals. The pressure spring is operated using a conventional hex wrench. The conductor is automatically clamped with the correct force.
The large conductor cross section makes this terminal block a suitable element for the power supply to switchgear cabinets or distributors. For this particular application, Wago has developed the secondary connection, which fits into the jumper contact slot. Using this, the supply voltage for LV and service connections can be tapped without the need for any additional terminal blocks, when the main switch behind the power supply terminal is opened. This accessory can be used instead of a 4 mm test socket for permanently connected measuring units, for instance, for the battery voltage of a standby set. Two conductors with cross sections from 0,2 mm2 to 16 mm2 can be connected per tapping module. Once fitted, the connection is touch-proof. As a special service, Wago offers a set of terminal blocks for three-phase circuits, consisting of a ground (earth) conductor terminal block which makes an automatic contact to the rail, one blue and three grey through terminal blocks. The set has its own item number, 285-199, which makes storage easier.
