Training and Proudly South African strategy pays dividends

July 2004 News

Some months ago Thermacon Manufacturing was listed as a Proudly South African company in a step towards its build up for ISO accreditation. The company implemented a rigorous training programme for all staff at all levels and reports that the benefit experienced over the last year has been considerable.

Productivity and motivation increased and absenteeism is down. This has resulted in a very positive attitude to training across the company. Thermacon changed its logo in keeping with its aim: 'Your reliable partner in industry.'

When the company was awarded the contract to re-furbish all heaters and thermocouples for a 2-ton front bumper mould that had to be supplied to BMW for the launch of its new series vehicle, the staff at Thermacon worked tirelessly for three days well into the early hours of the morning to complete the work. This commitment to its customers needs demonstrates its commitment to live up to the words of the new logo.

Thermacon receives a huge order

The company recently received a large order to re-furbish or make new all heating equipment and thermocouples from a company in Denver, Johannesburg. The work entails supplying 20 machines over a year to either re-furbish or make new ceramic heaters and air-cooling jackets for barrel heating and cooling. All head heaters and related heaters will be supplied by Thermacon. All thermocouples will be supplied and manufactured to the highest quality standards.

New distributors appointed

The company recently appointed Tec Electrical Services in Cape Town as a distributor for all its products. Tec Electrical Services' owner, Andrew Hughes, has recently completed a week's induction training at Thermacon and can be contacted on 021 557 3102 or 082 875 0415. Similarly, Rolyn Engineering was appointed as a distributor in Rustenburg. Johnny Lourens can be contacted on 014 596 6266 or 082 921 4482. Thermacon will offer these distributors full product training and attend shows and other marketing related activities that are deemed as necessary.
