Electrodeless conductivity indicator controllers

June 2004 PLCs, DCSs & Controllers

LTH Electronics has developed and designed an electrodeless conductivity indicator controller that offers a low-cost maintenance-free system, a cooling tower bleed and proportional feed, a solution concentration with an optional range of 0 to 5% NaOH, as well as rinse water control.

The BC9 Series of electrodeless conductivity controllers are intended for use in applications where sensor fouling occurs. The electrodeless method of measuring conductivity provides a maintenance free measurement system, at a very competitive price, when used with the ECS20 series of sensors. These advanced electrodeless conductivity controllers are housed in a small, custom, IP66 surface mounted enclosure with a 31/-digit liquid crystal display.

A single pole change over relay to operate a solenoid valve or dosing pump is provided by the BC9 series, and they also provide an isolated 0/4-20 mA output for remote monitoring or recording. The BC92 Series supplies an additional relay output to control an inhibitor feed pump for all the cooling tower bleed applications. The time that this relay is energised is in proportion to the bleed relay on time. Therefore, this provides a cost-effective method of proportional inhibitor dosing without the need for a water meter. The BC93 Series has two single pole changeover relays as well as an isolated 4 to 20 mA output. All the LTH products comply with the current European directives.
