The Wika series CTD 928x dry well calibrators are suitable for applications ranging from the testing of resistance thermometers in production to automatically calibrating thermocouples in the workshop. These instruments can quickly perform calibration tasks as standalone units - or in conjunction with the CTI 9310 measuring data acquisition unit and calibration software.
Five models covering many applications
* The CTD 9281 covers a range of -30 to +160°C (of interest to biotechnology, pharmaceutical and food industries.)
* The CTD 9282 covers the temperature ranges of 40°C to 200°C, which will interest the chemical industry. Unlike the other units this calibrator has a large aluminium block which can take up to three inserts so three different diameter thermometers can be calibrated simultaneously. The generous spacing between the inserts means that the connection heads or connection sockets of the probes under calibration will not interfere with each other.
* The CTD 9284 covers the temperature ranges of 40°C to 450°C, which by restricting the maximum temperature to 450°C results in minimum annealing of both the control thermometer and calibrator and, as a consequence, ensures improved long term stability of this unit. This calibrator covers thermometers used in the machine and plant construction industry and also more especially in plastic injection moulding machines and extruders.
* The CTD 9286 covers the temperature ranges of 40°C to 600°C and can be used to calibrate electrical thermometers, adjusting temperature transmitters at technical service stations and in measurement and control workshops. Its wide temperature range of 40°C to 600°C makes this instrument suitable as an 'all-round' temperature calibration tool.
* The CTD 9288 covers the temperature ranges of 40°C to 850°C is often used for calibrating thermocouples - which are typically used to measure furnace or exhaust gas temperatures. Regular calibrating is particularly essential in all applications where thermometers are exposed to high temperatures whether in the production of steel or in the glass industry. All units are equipped as standard with dry wells for 18 mm diameter and 100 mm long inserts. Three extended dry well calibrator versions are available for customers who have specific probes dimensions to consider or who wish to use external reference thermometers. The dry well temperature calibrators work with electrically cooled and heated metal blocks. These blocks different variants possible, such as to accept 28 mm diameter inserts or 200 mm long inserts to suit probes with longer active/sensing lengths. Inserts with different inner diameters adjust the probes to the calibrator.
Easy, efficient calibration
The desired temperature is entered by means of the keyboard and is shown together with the dry well temperature on a LCD two row display. The stability in K/min can be shown as an option. The optimum point in time to read off the specimen data can be easily selected using the displayed stability as a basis and, as a result, the time the calibration process takes is obviously reduced.
More efficient operation is made possible when the calibrators are used in conjunction with the CTI 9310 measuring data acquisition unit and the ThermoCal software. Together these enable the user to generate calibration certificates. The user then has all the advantages of a complete automatic calibration system.
