A fully automated manufacturing process is making it more cost-effective to produce Omron's E2A family of inductive proximity sensors.
Housed in metal cylinders the, E2A range of sensors is available in a range of standard sizes (M8, M12, M18 and M30) with long and short-barrelled versions available as both pre-wired and plug-in types. They have as standard a double distance sensing capability, (ie, M12 flush mounting has a 4 mm sensing distance, non-flush has a 8 mm sensing distance). This feature helps to protect against mechanical damage from moving parts on the machine, whilst allowing for very reliable sensing even with a build up of contamination on the sensing face.
All E2A sensors are designed to handle temperature conditions ranging from -40 to +70°C. They also conform to IEC IP67 standards. These features make the sensors suitable for diverse applications such as automotive manufacturing, packaging process machines and material handling.
Omron prides itself on environmental awareness and as such already uses state-of-the-art lead-free soldering in the manufacturing process. The packaging material is reduced to a minimum and can easily be recycled.
