DLM secures exclusive distribution rights for Hattersley

Dupleix Liquid Meters (DLM) has been appointed the exclusive distributor in South Africa for the Hattersley range of products. Hattersley is one of the world's premier ranges of cast iron and bronze valves. Founded in West Yorkshire by Richard Hattersley over 100 years ago, the Hattersley brand has earned a great reputation.

Hattersley's extensive range includes bronze and cast iron gate, globe and check valves and strainers as well as cast iron butterfly valves and eccentric and lubricated plug valves. The Milcentric eccentric plug valve is used extensively in applications requiring a valve capable of handling high flow and slurries containing large solids. The recent adoption of a streamlined manufacturing process had meant that Hattersley could significantly reduce the price of its Vee-Reg bronze flow control valve - as well as a number of its other products. DLM will of course pass these cost savings on to the market.

The comprehensive product range reflects the extent of Hattersley's involvement with critical projects in some of the most hostile environments in the world. The company's products have seen successful applications in all sectors of industry, including mining, chemicals, textiles, pharmaceutical, waste treatment and power generation - Hattersley has demonstrated its skill at providing a well-engineered solution for all applications.

Hattersley has worked with DLM on a non-exclusive basis for a number of years but now wants to strengthen its position in South Africa. "We recognise DLM as the ideal partner, being able to provide engineering expertise as well as excellent service to the market through its extensive branch infrastructure", said Hattersley's export sales manager, Matthew Dunk.

DLM, through its instrumentation, flow, control and energy divisions has focused its attention on sourcing a range of complementary products that together offer the solution to the overpressure protection; flow, level and density measurement, and automation and control needs of southern African industry.

The Hattersley range complements other recognised brand names that DLM's energy division represents on an exclusive basis. These include: Bailey - safety relief and pressure reducing valves, Birkett - safety relief valves, Amal - flame arresters, Marston - bursting/rupture discs and explosion panels, Marvac - tank venting valve, Braukmann - pressure reducing and safety relief valves, Pennant - steam traps, drain traps, air vents, sight checks and strainers, Peter Smith - cast iron and cast steel parallel slide, globe and check valves and strainers and Horne - temperature control and water mixing valves.

The flow division, which focuses on the petrochemical industry, includes in its range Isoil metering equipment, OPW Civacon tank truck fittings, earth bond monitoring and overfill prevention equipment, Lubrizol additive injection and blending equipment as well as OPW fuelling components fuel dispensing systems and nozzles.

Although DLM has marketed the Hattersley products in South Africa for a number of years, this was done on a non-exclusive basis.
