Technews' first issue of Motion Control

May 2004 News

Readers of the April issue of SA I&C will have read that Motion Control was recently acquired by Technews and has been positioned as a sister publication to SA Instrumentation and Control.

Headed up and produced by the same winning team, Motion Control is a quarterly publication that concentrates on the 'muscles of industry': hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical actuators/servos and their associated equipment, including: pumps, power supplies, drives, reservoirs, filters, electrical power conditioning, fluid conditioning, valves, pressure sensors, current transformers, thyristor banks, connectors, couplings, tubing, piping and gaskets, surge protection, etc.

The first issue is set to be posted on 25 May and will be laid out in a manner that is similar to SA I&C. The publication will remain the official organ of SAFPA (South African Fluid Power Association), and like the SAIMC in SA I&C, its pages will follow immediately after the news.

At an official launch at Monte Casino, director Darren Smith, delivered a presentation introducing Technews' six successful publications and the three annual directories that the company produces. Smith explained how all Technews publications are ABC audited, which means that considerable work needs to go into maintaining effective circulation lists. Technews has a dedicated circulation department that works full time to ensure that each publication is effective in showcasing its content to the appropriate decision makers in the industries covered.

Technews is confident that the circulation for Motion Control will be significantly boosted by the efforts of the circulation department. Readers have come to know and appreciate the standards that are maintained in SA Instrumentation and Control. These two factors are set to give the new sister publication a good running start. We at Technews look forward to bringing you another quality magazine.
