Rey & Lenferna, based in Bell Village, Mauritius, is one of only a few companies in the sub-Saharan Africa region to be recognised as a long-standing platinum distributor and systems integrator (SI) for Rockwell Automation products.
This electromechanical engineering company became a platinum channel partner of Rockwell Automation in 1992 and has year-on-year had one of the highest forecasts out of all the Rockwell Automation channel partners in the region. The company has increasingly made use of the Rockwell brand 'springboard' to gain market share in the textile, sugar, food and beverage, manufacturing and power generation industries.

Rey & Lenferna is one of the leading engineering companies on Mauritius and distributes the complete Rockwell Automation product range from motor protection and starters to limit switches, isolators and variable speed drives. Should it be a customer requirement, the company also has the ability to engineer custom software.
A base team, consisting of six people, from both the automation/control department and electronic department is dedicated to Rockwell's cause on the island - and exclusively so. Should the job necessitate it, this team can easily draw on the skills of other electrical engineers in the company.
During its time as a channel partner, the company has been involved in all size of projects, one of the most significant being a 6 million Rupee (around R2,5m) project that involved the complete automation of two boilers at FUEL, the largest sugar factory on the island.
"The prospects for the future are looking healthy. For around 2 to 3 years now the sugar industry has gone through a slump with a drop-off in investment. The closing down of certain factories in the short to middle term, is resulting in the imminent investments in new capital equipment in the existing ones. At the same time, a power station is being built at the moment, which will require quality drives and motors," says Jean Claude Baissac, managing director of Rey & Lenferna.
