The EV200 has been the most successful product introduced by Kilovac, the company believes that the relay sells itself - "Because it is priced right, is rugged and has the feature needed for most applications". The relay has been accepted internationally by most automakers for new hybrid, fuel cell and all electric vehicle platforms, new distributed power and storage systems, as well as retrofits for many electric industrial trucks where customers had problems in the past with open style relays. The contact rating is 200 A continuous/2 kA interrupt at 320 V d.c.
The recent addition of an optional auxiliary contact provides a low cost way to monitor the contact position. The auxiliary contact is rated for 2 A at 28 V d.c. and 3 A at 125 V a.c. the auxiliary contacts are also sealed. This rugged relay is hermetically sealed and will operate in explosive and harsh environments. It measures 56 mm high and 66 mm in diameter, making it the smallest and lightest sealed relay in the industry with its contact rating.
Other features include a built-in coil economiser so the relay will operate over a wide range of coil voltages, ie, (9-36 V d.c., 32-95 V d.c. or 48-95 V d.c.) and limits average coil-holding power to less than 1,7 W with no back-EMF when coil power is turned off.
