First Penmac event in 2004

March 2004 News

4 February 2004 was the first show of the year and the venue was in Milnerton, Cape Town. Two previous shows have been held in Stellenbosch, and this year the plan was to get closer to the centre of the city. Apart from having the trailer burgled and losing our tablecloths, the event went off smoothly on the day. Being closer to Cape Town did see an increase in visitors from the area; conversely there was a drop in visitors from Stellenbosch. The end result of the relocated venue was that 70% of this year's visitors had not visited a PENMAC show before.

Exhibitors at the Milnerton show included:

AC/DC Dynamics, Adroit Technologies, Anglo Allied Engineering, Ana-Digi Systems, Atlas Industrial Systems, AWR Smith Process Instrumentation, Burkert Contromatic, Cape Instrument Services, Citect Africa, Control Techniques, EP Normand, Hanna Instruments, Hi Tech Laboratory, IDX On Line, Ind Auto & Control, Instrotech, Lapp Cable, Laser Measurement, Loadtech, Massamatic, National Instruments, Phoenix Contact, RJ Programmable Techniques, Tecmo Automation, Temperature Controls, Throughput Technologies, Westplex, Yokogawa SA.

Future events around the country will see the inclusion of a training forum, which will commence with some of the more basic instrumentation and control concepts and develop according to user requirements. Eric Carter, a well-known specialist and accomplished trainer in the community, will host the training. A nominal fee will be charged for these two-hour training sessions, and booking for the courses will be handled directly with Dynawrite (Eric Carter) 083 300 3321.

Future shows across the country include; Witbank, Phalaborwa, Secunda, Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth, Vaal Triangle, Kimberley, Lime Acres, and Kuruman.
