Adroit Technologies has announced that it is joining forces with one of the world's leading providers of based manufacturing execution systems (MES), Cimnet.
USA-based Cimnet, a world leader in configurable MES software, has taken up an equity stake in local scada developer Adroit Technologies. In turn, the Cimnet and Adroit Technologies' development teams are to collaborate on releasing an integrated MES/human machine interface (HMI) software product, based on the Microsoft.Net platform.
Using Viznet, Adroit's new.NET based user interface framework, the two companies aim to produce a product that will offer users an integrated solution spanning the space between enterprise resource planning (ERP) and the shop floor.
Tony Crouch, Cimnet chief technical officer, stated, "Viznet is one of the best pieces of software I have seen. The Adroit development team has produced a framework that breaks the barriers and will allow Cimnet to bring the next generation of MES/HMI to the market easily and quickly, giving us a great competitive advantage."
John Richardson, CEO of Cimnet, added, "Both of these world-class companies offer best-of-breed software in their individual spaces. Adroit is a brilliant HMI and our product Factelligence has been successfully installed in over 1000 manufacturing plants worldwide. The result of this collaboration is going to revolutionise the industry."
"HMI companies trying to offer MES solutions have largely failed due to the complexities involved in manufacturing execution. This collaboration where a true-blue MES company is moving into HMI, will ensure that the offering will be both comprehensive and a proven solution based on the latest technology offerings," continues Dave Wibberley, managing director of Adroit Technologies.
Cimnet has been appointed the Adroit distributor in the USA and will market and sell the Adroit scada/HMI through its channel partners in this market. Richardson says, "The North American market is ripe for a new HMI offering as the big players have not invested much in technology over the past few years. Our integrated offering is going to be a breath of fresh air into what has become a stagnant, over-traded market."
Adroit will continue to develop and offer the Adroit scada product. In addition it will be in a position to offer its customers Factelligence from Cimnet.
