Leine & Linde's has taken experience from its successful 800 series encoders and gone a step further, having just recently launched the latest member in this family of robust incremental hollow-shaft encoders. The new model 862 is primarily intended for use with motors and generators.
Maintaining the same level of precision and reliability, the new encoder model has gained further technical and economical advantages. The model 862 is a further development of the 'paper encoder', Model 861. Improvements include electrical insulation up to 2,5 kV, special bearings for increased life and improved mechanical and electronic flexibility. The encoder can be used over a broad temperature range, extending from -40°C (-50°C as a special option) up to +100°C. For ease of maintenance the model can be equipped with a variety of connectors and it is easily installed with a hollow-shaft mounting. Model 862 retains its predecessor's advanced ADS diagnostic system for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
The encoder is suitable for tough environments, such as speed feedback on heavy motors and generators - from paper mills, to metals industries, to the wind power industry and in other applications where extra demands are made on function, resistance to hostile surroundings and reliability. This performance is made possible by the experience that Leine & Linde has gained from being in the business of developing and producing reliable optical encoders for over 35 years.
