Pneumatics is a rugged, longstanding technology and Festo's development of an extensive CR (corrosion-resistant) pneumatics range brings this technology to various applications and conditions which promote corrosion (water, salts, acids, powerful cleaning agents) in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as process engineering.
Festo's CR pneumatics range for these applications consists of drives from 12-100 mm piston diameter, cylinder sensors, cylinder and piston rod mountings, function fittings and quick push-pull connectors. All drives are manufactured from stainless steel; piston rod gaskets are manufactured from FPM and individual accessories are manufactured from polymer. The elements have been successfully tested for corrosion resistance under extreme conditions. The type designations are laser-engraved on the cylinders and existing end position cushioning is protected by cover screws. Corrosion-proof cylinders sensors are available to allow the position of all cylinders to be sensed contactlessly.
Festo facilitates selection with the availability of a range cylinder series and accessories:
* Rugged standard cylinders to DIN ISO 6431 and VDMA 24562 from 32-100 mm piston diameter with tie rods, in addition to a parallel series with integrated swivel mounting.
* Standard dimensions with adjustable end position cushioning.
* All-round cylinders without tie rod, with flexible end position cushioning from 12-25 mm to DIN ISO 6432 and as round cylinders from 32-63 mm piston diameter.
* Low-cost cylinders with flexible and position cushioning from 12-63 mm.
