Short-fork level switch is simple and versatile

Dupleix Liquid Meters (DLM) is offering the Solartron Mobrey range of vibrating forks. The manufacturer has re-designed its low-cost Squing vibrating short-fork level sensor in southern Africa. Squing 2 is easy to install, quick to commission and requires no maintenance. Its low-cost and robust versatility make it suitable for a wide range of high- and low-alarm duties, pump control and process level switching applications.

Like its predecessor, Squing 2 features Mobrey's 'short fork technology'. The fork assembly extends a total of 50 mm into the pipe or tank, allowing easier and more versatile installation. The new design is housed in robust plastic sealed to IP66/IP67, or Exd-rated flameproof aluminium, sized to give easy access to terminal wiring. Industry standard mountings and two separate conduit entry points (power in/signal out) are provided, factory-fitted with glands and blanking plugs.

Squing 2 features a visible heartbeat LED that flashes continuously to give 'at-a-glance' conformation that the sensor is operational. Warnings of a fault with the sensor, circuit or power supply are indicated by a change in the flash-rate. A built-in user-selectable time delay function allows reaction time to be set within a range from 0,33 to 30 s, to prevent nuisance-tripping caused by splashing, stirring or other surface disturbance. Also incorporated in the new design is a magnetic test point to allow quick checking of correct switch operation.

Squing 2's wet side forks have been re-shaped from earlier designs, to facilitate better liquid drainage and are available in a variety of materials including PVDF-coating, for chemical compatibility over a broad range of chemicals.
