Low-cost PLC/smart relay

Recently launched in South Africa, the FAB Giant is a low-cost PLC also referred to as a smart - or intelligent relay.

Key features include:

* All the DC inputs are usable as digital or analog inputs.

* AC (80-250 V) or DC (12-24 V) models available.

* 10 (6 in 4 out) and 20 (12 in 8 out) I/O models available.

* 10 A relay outputs or 2 A transistor outputs.

* 127 counters.

* 127 timers.

* Optional removable LCD panel.

* Easy graphic-based programming.

* Voice warnings.

* Networking and scada monitoring functions.

The best feature on the FAB is an accessory called AF-MUL, which enables the FAB Giant to connect to a phone line or GSM network (with addition of a router), call a pre-programmed number and play pre-recorded messages. The AF-MUL then allows the user to control the FAB Giant via the DTMF tones from the phone. The user can also phone the FAB Giant at any time and control it via the tones produced by simply pressing the numbers on the phones keypad preceded by the * button.
