Instrumentation specialist, Instrotech, now supplies the Magline Micro measuring system for precise and dynamic processes on linear guide systems - and other applications requiring sensing within the micrometer range. The Magline Micro system detects the movement without the use of contacts on a magnetic scale using technology that surpasses the sensing reliability of most optical processes. Easy handling and mounting makes the Magline Micro system suitable for retrofitting to existing machines, while also being an economical alternative to conventional length measuring systems.
The scale is fabricated of specially developed magnetic materials depending on the necessary accuracy. As the sensor travels over the magnetic band, the system works without wear and is insensitive to contamination, such as dust - or liquids.
Measured data can either be displayed directly where the system is mounted or transmitted to an electronic control. Measured data is transformed into distance/direction information. At a maximum measuring length of 4 m Magline Micro achieves a resolution of 1 mm. Repeat accuracy is also 1 mm, with an absolute accuracy of up to 10 mm. All important parameters are individually programmable allowing an adaptation of the system to the application's requirements. The system can output digital or analog signals.
