Adding to the extensive product range of Interbus motor switches, Phoenix Contact is now offering two devices with Profibus interfaces that can be used in a variety of industrial applications because of their high functionality.
As a two-channel model, the direct starter can switch three-phase asynchronous motors via Profibus on roller and belt conveyors. Using the two-channel direct starter is economical since a single device can control and monitor two motors entirely independently of one another. The reversal model of the Profibus motor switch implements points and auxiliary tables for reversible machine directions. The rotary direction reversal of the drive is selected via the control word.
250 W to 1,5 kW motors can be controlled with the Profibus motor switches. All connections are equipped with high-quality industrial plug connectors so that the module electronics can be removed or plugged in without altering any wiring. The cables for these motor switches to protection category IP54 can be pre-assembled with M12 plug connectors.
The motor switch can also be used for simple positioning applications since linking functions can be implemented with integrated digital inputs. Both digital outputs can be operated with an output current of 500 mA for each channel. An additional M12 connection enables direct control over connected motors in conjunction with a handheld control unit. In this manner, subsystems can be easily put into service without bus control in the commissioning phase.
