Recently launched by Weber Captor (Germany), the Smart Meter offers some unique features that make it a good solution for flow metering in large diameter pipes. These meters exhibit accurate flowmetering even at very low rates and linearised-analog output for interfacing with recorders, rate meters and PLCs. The insertion depth may be easily adjusted for pipes from 38 to 610 mm diameter. The solid state, state-of-the-art design means that no maintenance is necessary, there are no moving parts to stick or wear out. This makes the devices suitable for handling aggressive and hard to measure media. The compact, rugged industrial design requires minimal inventory requirements thanks to the universal mounting design. All these things mean that this meter is often a cost effective alternative to other metering technologies.
