As a low-cost alternative to expensive magnetic flowmeters, the GLI Flow Sensor from PREI Instrumentation provides 1% accuracy for velocities from 9 m/sec down to 0,3 m/s. The forward-swept six bladed impellor has much better characteristics than the conventional four-bladed impellor, it does not attract metal particles, and the ceramic impellor shaft significantly increases the sensor life.
The pulsed output from these sensors has high noise immunity, enabling signal transmission of up to 600 m without amplification.
The GLI Flow Monitor/Totaliser, can simultaneously accept inputs from up to four flow sensors, and provide the flow rate and totalised flow for each sensor. It has two 0/4-20 mA outputs, RS232 output and optional HART communication capability. There are also four SPDT relays that can be user-configured independently for alarm or control functions. 'Hot tap' mounting hardware is available as an option to enable operators to insert and remove the sensor from pressurised lines without stopping the flow.
This low-cost flow measuring equipment is ideal for chemical dosing and for monitoring liquid reticulation in municipalities, in industries, and in agriculture.
