The ADAM 4000 Series modules from ProMicro are compact, versatile sensor-to-computer interface units that provide intelligent signal conditioning, analog I/O, digital I/O, data display and RS485 communication.
The modules accommodate multiple types and ranges of analog input that are selected remotely by issuing commands from the host computer. One type of module may be used for different tasks simplifying design and maintenance. Only two wires are required to communicate with the controlling host computer over a multidrop RS485 network. Their ASCII-based command/response protocol ensures compatibility with virtually any computer system. A watchdog timer will automatically reset the ADAM modules reducing the need for maintenance.
ADAM modules can be easily mounted on a DIN rail, panel or piggybacked. Signal connections can be made through plug-in screw terminal blocks providing simple installation, modification and maintenance. Typical applications include, for example, remote data acquisition, process monitoring, industrial process control, energy management and laboratory automation.
