Eurotherm has consolidated its previously extensive range of thyristors into a more dedicated offering. Protea Automation Solutions, which represent Eurotherm in this country, now markets this range specifically for the furnace industry. Whether the load is constant or variable resistance, inductive or transformer coupled, single or three-phase, Eurotherm can provide thyristors to meet exact requirements. The standard range caters for currents up to 1000 A but by using separate driver and power units, this range can be extended.
The Eurotherm thyristors can be provided for single phase, 3-phase 3-wire (2 leg switching) or 3-phase 3 or 4-wire (3 leg switching). Single-phase units are also available.
The single-phase thyristors are available in 11 sizes with current ratings of 75 A through to 150 A. The 3-phase thyristors are available in eight sizes, with ratings from 63 A through to 1000 A.
The compact size of the Eurotherm 3 phase power units make them economical to install. Auto sensing of phase rotation makes them simple to connect up. Built-in diagnostics on some models make setting up and fault finding easy. Since the operating mode is set by internal links and switches on the TE and TC 3-phase ranges it is possible to customise power control to exact requirements.
