Temperature Measurement

High performance temperature solution

Measurement loss on a control and safety temperature measurement point can have costly repercussions. All industries have measurement points that demand the most accurate, stable, and reliable transmitter available. The Rosemount Model 3144P is designed specifically for control and safety applications.

Easy configuration

The 3144P is factory or field configurable for single-sensor or dual-sensor input to meet individual application needs. Differential and average temperature measurements provide application versatility to the 3144P. This transmitter can be individually tailored to each process with its wide range of sensor input and configuration options.

Saving procurement, installation and maintenance costs

Cost savings for the 3144P begin by issuing one purchase order, from a single vendor, for a complete temperature measurement solution. The complete solution arrives on site fully assembled and configured, greatly reducing installation time. Having one spare transmitter, for both single-sensor and dual-sensor applications, reduces inventory cost and required stock space. With industry-leading 5-year stability and built-in diagnostics, maintenance becomes a scheduled event, not a process-stopping emergency.

Hot backup

Hot backup protects the user's investments by automatically switching from a failing primary sensor to a backup sensor without disrupting the output signal. This prevents unexpected shutdowns due to temperature point loss. The manufacturer says that hot backup reduces the risk of losing important temperature measurement by up to 80%.

Sensor drift alert

Sensor drift alert enables continuous realtime monitoring of the differential temperature between two sensors. When one sensor drifts, the differential of the sensors will increase. If this differential between the sensors exceeds defined limits, the user is alerted of an unreliable measurement. This protects the process and the user's investment.

Designed for harsh environments

Electrical and magnetic interference (EMI) from nearby motors, lightning, and other devices that generate strong electromagnetic fields, can interfere with a transmitter output signal. Enhanced EMI rejection and filtering, with a dual compartment housing, offers high measurement stability. Third party validated metrics for safety related systems further ensure that the user's control and safety needs are met. Significant features include:

* Field configurable for single and dual sensors.

* Ambient temperature compensation for superior accuracy in extreme conditions.

* Open sensor detection maximises plant availability.

* Large terminal block for ease of wiring.

* LCD display for local indication.
