Fast 16-bit PCMCIA device

Engineers and scientists now can use National Instruments' fastest 16-bit PCMCIA data acquisition (DAQ) device to automate their portable measurements. The NI DAQCard-6036E is the first PCMCIA device from NI to offer both 16-bit analog input and analog output. With innovative NI ASIC designs, the device packs the advanced functions and technologies of the company's full-size E Series DAQ devices into the PCMCIA format.

The device features 16-bit analog input on single-ended or eight differential channels, two 16-bit analog output channels, eight digital I/O lines, and two 24-bit counter/timers. It can digitise input voltages up to 200 kSamples/s. Engineers can synchronise the device with multiple data acquisition and control devices using the programmable function inputs (PFI). The DAQCard-6036E also features an on-board temperature sensor and temperature drift protection circuitry to ensure measurement accuracy in laptop computers, which can operate at warmer temperatures than desktop PCs. When used with NI SCC portable signal conditioning, the DAQCard-6036E device can connect to a wide range of signal and sensor types. It is well suited for signal acquisition and generation in laboratory research, design verification, and portable data logging applications.

The device comes with the latest NI-DAW driver software, a powerful programming interface that simplifies configuration and measurements. This arrangement integrates with a variety of application development environments, including NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and meaurement studio, as well as general programming languages, including Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Basic.NET. In addition to the many example programs included in NI-DAQ, engineers can find more than 1000 example measurement programs and more than 7000 knowledge bases on NI Developer Zone to help reduced development time.
