Stakeholders in the supply chain environment are gearing up for this year's annual SAPICS Conference and Exhibition, the leading event in Africa on supply chain management.
Now in its 25th year, the SAPICS conference has been a stalwart feature for supply chain and logistics management professionals through times of economic, social and technological change, and continues to be associated with excellence and innovation through top quality local and international presentations, workshops, exhibitions and events designed to enable networking between the several hundred delegates who attend each year.
The 2003 SAPICS conference and exhibition - with the theme 'Going back to the future'- features a full programme running from 2-4 June at Sun City. The SAPICS conference has been commended in the past for its high-calibre presentations, including topical keynote addresses by leading international and local experts, case studies, and panel discussions. Among other speakers, the 2003 Conference features Ram Reddy, president of the Tactica Group, USA, on supply chains and virtual integration and Tom Schulte, trainer, TS Consulting USA on staying positive in a tough working environment. Among the local speakers is last year's best speaker, Jurgen Tietz, with his 'Lessons out of Africa'.
Sun City has established itself as a leading venue in terms of facilities and entertainment and will, once again, be utilised effectively in this year's programme. Besides being a forum for education and the exchange of ideas, the conference also acknowledges contributions made, with awards for best speaker, best paper and best exhibition stand.
Other themes and topics being explored this year include adventures in outsourcing, activity-based costing, life after ERP and the critical supply chain tools.
