New managing director for Mitech
April 2003
News
All companies are in the process of change all the time, the difference between them is whether they initiate and control the change, or if they allow external factors to cause the changes to which they have to react.
Mitech has been led by the two founding directors Mike Sessions and Greg Walker since it began in 1987. Since then, it has grown continuously until it is now a sizable operation employing in excess of 90 people. The company owes much of its success to its ability to be proactive towards change, and the owners are determined that this will continue.

Recognising the need for new blood and professional management, the founders have now appointed Trevor Walker as the new managing director. He is well known in the industry having been the general manager of Dresser Control Valves for the last nine years. His knowledge of the industry, management skills and corporate experience will all be well utilised in his task of taking Mitech to its next level of development.
The founding directors have been keen to point out that they are not leaving the company. They remain as the owners and are taking up non-executive directorship where they will have more time and opportunity to provide leadership and support, not burdened with the day-to-day administration of the business.
Trevor Walker's philosophy on running a company is summed up in the following statement, "We must not forget it is on ideas, change and attitude that we need to build our business."
