The introduction of new standards in the level of fire protection required for certain applications, has radically reduced the safe life expectancy of some existing switches. Switches functioning at up to 200°C can last up to two hours, others as little as a few minutes.
Based on experienced gained from its MP320 switch, Microprecision has developed a similar switch that complies with CENELEC 61058-1 standard. Making use of new materials, the new device is certified to withstand -40°C to +200°C.
The new model can be driven by the same actuator as the standard types and is rated at 250 V a.c./6 A. The beryllium copper leaf spring with self-cleaning contacts give an expected life span of 5 x 106 operations. The housing is ultrasonically welded to (IP 67) / DIN 41635, form A.
