Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration
Two new stroboscopes from SKF, the TKRS 10 and TKRS 20, allow fast, safe machinery inspection. These portable, compact, easy-to-use instruments make the motion of rotating or reciprocating machinery appear frozen.
They enable applications such as fan blades, couplings, gear wheels, machine tool spindles and belt drives to be inspected in the running condition, and are useful for both machine operators and maintenance technicians. The stroboscopes are ergonomically designed and enable the flash rate to be adjusted in seconds. The phase shift feature allows the object of interest to be positioned for easy viewing. In addition, a rechargeable power pack gives true portability.
With a xenon tube light source, the TKRS 10 has a maximum flash rate of 12 500 flashes per minute and is suitable for operator driven reliability programmes.
For more demanding applications, the TKRS 20 has a more powerful LED light source with a maximum flash rate of 300 000 flashes per minute. This is suitable for most outdoor applications. It has been designed to give the user enhanced functionality and up to twelve hours of operation before recharging. Supplied with a remote laser sensor that enables the flash rate to be easily triggered, it also allows the stroboscope to be used as a tachometer.
The TKRS stroboscopes have an easy to read LCD display showing the user settings. In addition, the TKRS 20 enables up to ten user programmable flash rate memories to be quickly recalled.
