The TK series temperature switch from ifm electronic is designed for temperature monitoring.
The compact switch and its 316 stainless steel RTD probe measure only 72 mm and are mounted directly into a pipe. Two mechanical setup dials rotate to establish the set and reset temperatures. The switch’s high accuracy ensures that the set-point does not drift and calibration is not required.
Two bright LEDs indicate switching and operating status. With no moving parts to break or stick in the process the switch achieves high performance and long-term stability. Electrical connection is achieved with an industry standard micro DC connector and a locking device prevents unintentional set-point changes.
A Pt1000 RTD is used for the temperature measurement. The Pt1000 RTD is a platinum resistor that exhibits a resistance of 1000 at 0°C. Platinum is used due to its optimal linearity and stability with temperature. Temperature is sensed by measuring the change in resistance of the RTD. As temperature increases the resistance of the RTD also increases.
TK series switches are micro DC units with G1/4 BSP process connections. Operating temperature range is -25 to 140°C. Two models are available: PNP, NO /NC output with adjustable hysterisis and PNP, two x NO output with fixed hysteresis.
