Wonderware IntelaTrac mobile workforce solution

August 2010 Data Acquisition & Telemetry

Version 4.0 of the Wonderware IntelaTrac Mobile Workforce solution is now available and includes advanced capabilities for bidirectional communications with the mobile workforce to plug the gaps in non-instrumented areas of the plant and to enhance the effectiveness of operators through improved guidance and instructions.

IntelaTrac is Wonderware’s mobility extension for workforce enablement and decision support which allows disconnected or non-instrumented assets, processes and procedures to be integrated with existing scada facilities. “IntelaTrac 4.0 enables our clients and ecosystem partners to integrate a number of systems throughout the plant with an IntelaTrac mobile device,” says Deon van Aardt, MD of Wonderware Southern Africa. “Instructions and tasks can be sent directly to mobile operators thereby increasing their effectiveness and efficiency. These capabilities help close the information gap that many mobile systems have and deliver useful information directly to the people that need it the most.”

Used in hundreds of plants worldwide, the IntelaTrac system enables end-users to execute predefined procedures under changing environmental or business conditions, resulting in a responsive, collaborative plant environment. The solution facilitates operational best practices by mobile workers by connecting them to enterprise asset management and equipment reliability systems as well as process historians to provide increased visibility into the performance of non-instrumented or stranded equipment and assets. Additionally, the IntelaTrac system helps streamline health, safety and environmental compliance and delivers rapid ROI, typically four to six months.

The system also delivers unique capabilities for operator driven reliability, cost effective regulatory compliance, energy management and asset responsiveness. It can mitigate workforce turnover through the use of its mobile on-the-job learning capabilities, all of which can be done without the need for custom programming.
