OMSA acquires new agencies

January 2010 News

OMSA Valves and Instrumentation has acquired the sole sub-Saharan African agencies for US-based ITT valves and German-based SED-Flowcontrol. The company can now supply valves that range up to DN800 in fluoroplastic-lined products and even larger sizes of metal valves. These valves have a newly developed lining and anti-corrosive properties, offering a superior lifecycle and making them suitable for such industries as power and water.

ITT Engineered Valves is a leading global supplier with 60 years of experience in the supply of a variety of valve types. Of particular interest to OMSA and its customers is ITT’s range of slurry handling valves such as knife gate, wedge gate and slide gate. These are used worldwide in mining, power generation, pulp and paper, chemical process and water treatment plants, and have a role to play in the African situation wherever a higher quality valve is required.

SED is well known for its high specification ranges of diaphragm valves and angle seat valves as well as solenoid valves, positioners and ancillaries such as variable area flowmeters. A wide variety of materials makes the equipment suitable for a large number of industry sectors, especially aggressive chemical and metal refining processes, pharmaceutical and food and beverage.

One of the company’s strengths is that valves can be manufactured specifically to meet the requirements of its African customers. Customers are offered a free-trial on the two new valve ranges to ensure that the correct valve is chosen for every application.
