Rittal has entered into a global strategic partnership with Atos and Siemens. The common goal is the development of intelligent edge data centre solutions for smart industries, smart cities, smart retail, energy and the public sector.
The new Intelligent Edge Data Centre (IEDC) is a highly configurable solution that enables businesses to process IoT data in real time. Components of the solution include MindSphere, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens, the new BullSequana Edge Computing servers and BullSequana S servers, and Atos Codex Cloud Industrial Supervision (CIS). Thanks to the sophisticated data processing and analysis solution, companies can significantly optimise their entire value creation processes.
The OT (operational technology) infrastructure was developed by Rittal and designed as an edge data centre. The advantage: operation can be provided directly at the place of origin of the data, which allows processing of the IoT data in real time and thus a faster analysis as well as improved automation processes. In terms of the IT infrastructure, Atos and Siemens software solutions support the collection, calculation and analysis of data.
