Parker Hannifin has been honoured with the ‘Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018’ for its integrated drying and filtration system OFAS (oil free air system). The German Red Dot Award is recognised as a seal of excellence and established internationally as one of the most sought-after quality marks for good design.
Parker introduced the innovative OFAS system early last year. Combining sophisticated Oil-X filtration technology with an optimised drying system, it has been designed to provide consistent high performance even over an extended period of time. Developed to set a new standard for the industry in terms of efficiency and productivity, it uses a specialist high-strength desiccant cartridge with snowstorm filling that maximises packing density, prevents channelling effects, guarantees a consistent dew point and contributes to an extremely low differential pressure, helping to reduce the energy consumption of the compressor. Minimum total cost of ownership and the excellent cost-benefit ratio are guaranteed through reduced service times, simplicity in the replacement of parts, maximum uptime, extended maintenance periods and longer operational life. With OFAS, Parker has redefined compressed air drying and filtration in order to provide for the best possible combination of economy, efficiency, quality, functionality and longevity.
“We are privileged to be honoured with the prestigious Red Dot Award,” said Stephen Stewart, product manager adsorption technologies, Parker Zander. “It supports our goal to develop solutions which not only provide best-in-class performance, but also allow for creativity in design, resulting in designs that stand out from the competition.”
