RS supports industrial control products from Siemens

December 2017 PLCs, DCSs & Controllers

RS Components now provides support for customers looking to migrate to the latest generation of the Siemens Sirius line of industrial control products. The modular system offers a comprehensive range of control panel products with numerous combinations to cover every possible application. Sizes S00, S0, S2 and S3 up to 55 kW have been further developed, and the system now offers additional advantages to meet the latest application requirements.

Offering higher power ratings and increased functionality in identically-sized space-saving devices as the previous series, the latest Sirius modular system offers a full range of control panel products, from simple load feeders to units that switch, protect, start and monitor motors up to 250 kW and 400 V.

The Sirius system guarantees simple wiring to save installers both money and time. The units fit together easily, avoiding problems when combining different products together. The flexible in-feed system (for S0 and S00) uses screw-type and spring-loaded connections, enabling easy assembly without the use of tools.

Additional capabilities of the new series include readiness for the new IE3/IE4 generation of motors, a range of snap-on function modules, including communication units, as well as current-monitoring relays for the upgraded S00, S0 and S2 units, which can be directly integrated onto the load feeders.

In addition to helping users understand the complexities encountered during the process of product migration, RS will be stocking both the old and new-generation Sirius products to make the migration process as smooth as possible, as products are phased out over the next few months.

Units meet all relevant worldwide standards and approvals for deployment in any market including safety application and in extreme environments such as the railway and shipbuilding sectors.
