Intrinsically safe barcode scanners

March 2016 IS & Ex

Managing inventory and tracing assets can be a laborious and time-consuming process, especially in hazardous areas. To make things easier, Extronics offer a cost effective new solution, the iSCAN range of intrinsically safe barcode scanners.

The scanner’s rapid scan rate records information quickly and efficiently and the unit is light enough to be easily carried, yet rugged enough to withstand being dropped onto concrete. The range provides a practical way to improve productivity whilst reducing the risk of errors.

ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 certified, the iSCAN range can safely be used in hazardous areas. The wide scan line and good read range makes it easy to scan barcodes in awkward and hard to reach locations, saving time and allowing workers to maintain a safe distance.

The devices can connect with current systems to give better oversight of operations, and can also be used with smart devices such as the Rough Pro range via Bluetooth. Fully scalable, units available in several different options, giving the flexibility to choose the version best suited to a specific application.
