Define Instruments Zen-16 units trialled in platinum mine

Define Instruments continues to make progress in South Africa accelerated by much interest from the mining industry, with attention centred around the wireless products – in particularly the Zen-16 unit.
Define Instruments CEO Anthony Glucina explains: “The Zen is a monitoring and control station with 16 galvanically isolated channels. It is suited to mining applications due to its robustness and high level of noise filtering. The easy onboard data logging is another advantage.”
A trial of the Zen is underway at an open cast platinum mine in Limpopo. The trial involves the unit being housed inside a rotary blast hole drilling rig. It will send signals over WiFi to a central control room and also to an HMI in the operator’s cabin.
Results from the trial will be known shortly.
