Load Metering Skids (LMS) or gantries (multiple skids in parallel) are used in fuel load-out applications, either for trucks or rail carts and these applications are generally custody approved or certified according to international accepted standards.
Endress+Hauser LMS are designed, manufactured and shipped as a complete solution with a choice of top or bottom loading nozzles. These units are built with proven technologies, utilising the accuracy and long-term stability of Coriolis custody approved meters, batching computers, start/stop valves and a proper grounding system for safety. Endress+Hauser LMS also come in a choice of vertical or horizontal installations and the use of an optional air eliminator.
The system is equipped with an open and standardised interface, which means that the LMS is compatible with the Endress+Hauser terminal management systems, as well as other ‘open’ tank inventory systems.
In comparison to conventional mechanical PD meters, the Promass Coriolis meters offer a direct mass output. Furthermore, due to simultaneous density and temperature output, they are able to give a volume output at the same time, which benefits the customer as trends indicate a shift from volume to mass billing for light hydrocarbons (similar to LPG).
Due to the much lower pressure losses the Promass can operate with higher flow rates, which results in faster loading times, improved fuel logistics and scheduling and an increase in product volume. This results in improved cash flow and lower operating costs.
Other benefits include:
• Standardised metering solutions.
• Cost saving due to trouble free and easy to deploy solution.
• The accuracy of the Coriolis meters ensures reduced losses resulting in cost savings vs. the traditional mechanical meter systems for positive displacement.
• Full MID-EC examination approval for complete metering skid.
• Low calibration costs due to long-term stability of the Coriolis meter.
• Simple and powerful integration into Endress+Hauser Tank Vision Tank Gauging system, thereby providing a comprehensive inventory management system.
