Victor Marques has been appointed general manager for Omron South Africa responsible for the successful running of the local operation together with his team of technical, sales and support staff.
“It’s my function to ensure that my team delivers excellent service from an Omron solution sales perspective and from a backup support role,” says Marques. “Also that we as a team are able to go the extra mile if and when needed.
Marques adds that it will be his goal, with the support of the management team, to create a business where the Omron core values form part of the Omron South Africa DNA. “I want the company to perform pro-actively to the best of its ability as a team, with the utmost integrity and respect for one another. “I believe that everyone in the organisation has an important role to play in ensuring that Omron South Africa is a success.”
Marques indicates that one of his main areas of focus will be to expand the Omron business into sub-Saharan Africa. “There are exciting developments taking place in the motion control world. The perception of motion control for machines being costly is slowly changing, as is the idea that you need rocket science to implement machine automation.”
