Portable flowmeter now with hazardous area approval
July 2013
IS & Ex
The new Flexus F608 portable flow measuring system is based on the widely used and versatile F601, but has been specifically engineered for its use within hazardous areas and is FM Class I, Div. II approved. This means users are no longer obliged to obtain a Hot Work Permit, making access to hazardous areas easier and less time consuming.
Offering a high degree of flexibility without compromising safety
The carbon fibre housing together with the rugged transducer design ensures a high impact protection as well as resistance against oil, water and many other liquids. The F608 shares the same efficient battery management as the F601, offering over 14 hours of remote measurement time.
The portable measurement system can be fully set-up in less than five minutes due to the intuitive user guidance and automatic transducer recognition. Equipped with two flow channels, multiple inputs/outputs and an integrated datalogger with a serial interface, the flowmeter is designed for direct usage in demanding environments, such as in the upstream, midstream and downstream areas in the oil & gas industry as well as in processing and the energy sector.
The F608 features a highly precise bi-directional measurement at very fast or slow flow rates over a wide dynamic measurement range. It is not prone to temperature and zero drift, being fully compliant to ANSI/ASME regulations. The instrument is not only safe, accurate and reliable, but also compact and lightweight, allowing the user to carry the complete measuring system as personal luggage for offshore visits.
