MAPS (Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite) Adroit Technologies’ integrated software solution was chosen by Deebar Mining & Industrial Supplies as the scada system for its latest Deebar Rail-Veyor project commissioned during November.
Deebar designed, manufactured and installed the first commercially operated Rail-Veyor system in 2005. The system combines the best of conventional railroads, overland conveyors, trucks and slurry pipeline transport, which represents a unique, practical approach to moving materials economically over short, intermediate and long distances. Rail-Veyor moves materials by use of a light rail track system with a series of two-wheeled, inter-connecting cars that effectively represent a long, open trough moving along the track.
The latest Deebar Rail-Veyor required an integrated software solution that allowed for seamless electronic information flow between the Mitsubishi PLC platform and the visual control stations. Coupled to this requirement, a bulk engineering tool to allow rapid development was also needed. Forming part of the original equipment for Rail-Veyor, a permanent and sustainable solution was found with Adroit, Mitsubishi and MAPS. Maturity of the businesses, security, support, local development and IT capabilities made the choice simple.
Performance of the system is monitored at all times including production and operational costs. Complete record keeping from spares used, electricity consumed, production delivery and personnel accessing the system is available through the extended product range from Adroit.
Connectivity and global reporting capabilities are vital in today’s international commodity trading arenas. Deebar required a visualisation and reporting software platform, which would complement, enhance and meet the business needs of global mining houses, to form an integral part of the Deebar Rail-Veyor. MAPS addressed the shortcomings of standard scada software solutions through its value-add during the engineering, integration and operating lifecycle phases.
