Comitronic-BTI is a French based manufacturer of machine safety products and standalone, non-contact, multi coded safety switches. The Comitronic switches achieve a high level of safety as per ISO13849-1 without use of an additional safety relay. In today’s highly automated manufacturing processes, safety switches are not only required to protect the operator from dangerous machinery, but also to protect the expensive machinery from possible damage caused by the operator.
The switches consist of two parts: a receiver and a transmitter and are mounted on doors and crankcases of dangerous machines. As soon as the door opens, the switch stops the dangerous function until the door is closed again. Thanks to an innovative electronic process based on a multi-decoding system (unlike reed switches), Comitronic offers a reliable safety solution that is totally vandal-proof.
Directed at the food industry, the wide range of stainless steel safety switches protect machines used in environments where the use of mechanical switches is prohibited because of the risk of bacteria and dirt. The Comitronic stainless steel range is totally waterproof (IP67 or IP69K), resistant to high temperatures and resistant to high pressure cleaning and washing detergents. Additionally, they can be used where they come in direct contact with food since there is no risk of bacterial development. Laser marking ensures that the inscription on the switches remains readable for the life of the switch.
