The company’s dedication to service is exemplified by its very first customer, an iron ore mine in the Northern Cape, which remains a client to this day. “The return business we get from our customers is a testament to the service they receive from us,” Rautenbach explains. “We’ve always said that if you’ve eaten out of the hand of Iritron, you will never go back to other service providers.”
Iritron’s proactive approach to client service involves continually assessing client needs and proposing innovative solutions, often integrated into long-term strategic plans. One early success was the implementation of a ‘power-proofing’ project at the iron ore mine, which significantly reduced downtime and increased plant availability during power dips, resulting in substantial revenue gains for the client.
The company’s later expansion into manufacturing was a strategic move to ensure quality control and reduce time delays associated with outsourced production. Today, Iritron boasts one of the most advanced motor control centre facilities in the industry, with certifications including ISO 9001:2015 and SANS 1973-1 and 1973-3, and subscribing to the standards as set out by ISASA.
“By adhering to these standards, we can ensure safe, reliable and high-quality products,” Rautenbach notes.
He further highlights that the company’s partnerships with industry leaders like Festo and Scheider Electric have also been instrumental in shaping Iriton’s capabilities and expanding its reach. “These partnerships have fostered collaboration, knowledge sharing and the delivery of comprehensive solutions to our clients,” says Rautenbach.
