EtherCAT Technology Group holds its annual Plug Fest
January 2025
News
The 2024 Japanese EtherCAT Plug Fest of the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG) took place in Yokohama, Japan. The event offered participants a valuable opportunity to test the interoperability of their 9 EtherCAT MainDevices and 10 EtherCAT SubDevices. Using the knowledge gained, they will be able to improve compatibility and optimise their products for use in the field.
Four companies attended the event for the first time and contributed significantly to the dynamics and diversity of the event. In addition to the interoperability tests, the meeting also focused on the personal exchange between the attendees and the EtherCAT experts on site, which helped with identifying and solving technological challenges.
The employees of the Japanese ETG office organised the event and were on site to host it. The increase in the number of participating companies made the 2024 Plug Fest a special event. While previous events were highly successful, the atmosphere was enlivened in 2024 by the new faces and the great interest in the topic of EtherCAT interoperability.
The EtherCAT Plug Fests take place at regular intervals in Europe, Japan, Korea and North America. Founded in 2003, the EtherCAT Technology Group is an organisation where user companies from various industries and leading automation suppliers join forces to support, promote and advance EtherCAT technology. With over 7950 members from 75 countries, the EtherCAT Technology Group has become the largest and fastest growing fieldbus organisation in the world.
