HSPA enabled industrial cellular routers

Moxa has introduced its next generation of cellular routers, OnCell 5004/5104-HSPA series. Upgraded to the HSPA standard, the range is now able to avoid the downfalls of its predecessors when uploading videos via a cellular network. With the upload bandwidth extended to 5,7 Mbps, OnCell 5000-HSPA series can now stream videos over cellular networks and effectively avoid the possible skips and frozen frames found in conventional cellular routers.

The OnCell 5000-HSPA series connects up to 4 Ethernet devices to a cellular network and provides the functionality of a cellular router, firewall and switch in one device. With the advanced mechanics of GuaranLink to secure the cellular network connection and the OnCell Central Manager for convenient and secure access of remote devices, the OnCell 5000-HSPA series is also coupled with the rugged industrial-grade shelling designed specifically to endure harsh environments. The wide operating temperature range of -30°C to 55°C and IP30 aluminium housing, makes the series an intelligent, industrial strength, multi-functional cellular communication platform ideal for multimedia streaming over cellular.

Maximised bandwidth – HSPA standard compliance

To provide high-quality, remote mobile video, or to implement redundant data backup systems, system integrators are now demanding machine-to-machine systems to move more real-time data faster than ever. Advances in cellular technology are growing to meet these bandwidth needs from the original GPRS standard with the upload speed of only 20 Kbps, to the newest standard, HSPA, with 5,7 Mbps making transmitting videos via cellular networks a reality. HSPA allows Moxa’s top-of-the-line OnCell series to give greatly improved upload bandwidth. The OnCell line has been specifically designed with a focus on remote monitoring for industrial purposes, to ensure that devices like remote IP surveillance cameras maintain reliable, high-throughput connectivity.

GuaranLink and OnCell Central Manager for continuous remote monitoring

To ensure reliable and continuous connectivity, Moxa’s OnCell 5000-HSPA series are engineered with the cutting edge GuaranLink and OnCell Central Manager. With the GuaranLink system in place, issues posed by conventional cellular routers, of signal fade-out or connection termination, can now be avoided. GuarenLink comes with a precautionary feature designed to alert the system integrator to any connection failures. Along with GuaranLink, the series also resolves the issue of mobile devices’ inabilities to be accessed directly from the Internet by using OnCell Central Manager, an OnCell central server with a public IP address. By simply installing the program onto a Server PC with a public IP address and register the IP address of OnCell 5000-HSPA series, the OnCell Central Manager is automatically connected, which allows the system integrator to use web browsers to access private network devices remotely. OnCell Central Manager makes it easy to remotely monitor, configure, and manage devices from anywhere on the Internet, free from the limitations posed by a private IP.
