Africa Automation Fair (AAF) 2017, happening from 6-8 June at the Ticketpro Dome, will once again bring together the best in industrial control technologies. This year however sees exciting new developments as the show expands to host a simultaneous world-class conference on the Fourth Industrial Revolution - Connected Industries, including Industry 4.0/Industrial Internet of Things, side by side with the exhibition, as well as showcasing a bolt-on event: Pollution & Waste Technology Africa.
The Connected Industries conference is the first of its kind in Africa, bringing together representatives from South African government, international stakeholders, higher education representatives, local and international industry experts, suppliers and end-users. The purpose is to discuss and pave the way forward for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which promises to marry the worlds of production and network connectivity in an Industrial Internet of Things that makes Industry 4.0 a reality.
Day 1 of the conference will look at ‘The global economic impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on sub-Saharan Africa’ and day 2 will focus on ‘The technology behind the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how the implementation of the IIoT will have an impact on efficiency and quality, as well as infrastructural requirements.’ Delegates of the conference can then attend day 3 of Africa Automation Fair, which will see supplier/vendor solution presentations showcasing who will drive the IIoT.
Recognising the expansion of the instrumentation and control industry to include IIoT and its role in a circular economy, AAF saw a natural synergy to include Pollution & Waste Technology Africa into Africa Automation Fair. This bolt-on event will highlight the technology, innovations and solutions for processing, reducing and managing pollution and waste across all industry sectors.
Africa Automation Fair is the southern hemisphere’s most comprehensive trade fair for the industry and the organisers are proud to have received endorsements from SAIMC, IIG, the EU, Black Management Forum (BMF) and the DTI.
