Alien Systems & Technologies’ Pyroshield Gaseous Fire Suppression System has been awarded runner up in the Best Product under R1 million category at the Green Supply Chain Awards 2012.
According to the awards criteria, the Pyroshield system demonstrated sustained performance in environmental supply chain planning and execution, including compliance with environmental regulations, minimising waste from the supply chain process, reducing carbon footprint and contributing to the overall adoption of ‘green’ practices across the supply chain.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport South Africa (CILTSA), the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa and Supply Chain Today launched The Green Supply Chain Awards in 2009, to reward companies and products that show excellence in environmental sustainability and ‘going green’.
AST CEO, Paul Wright commented, “In 2003 Pyroshield scooped the SABS Design Institute Award and almost 10 years on it is still at the forefront of environmental sustainability and fire engineering technology. Other products in its category struggle to meet the same approvals and high standards Pyroshield has set.”
